Jon Bon Jovi Living Life On His Own Terms It's been a long, rocky road for Jon Bon Jovi but he's finally found the inner peace to live life his way, on his own terms. By all accounts, it hasn't been easy for the feather-haired rocker.
"Man, I tell ya," Mr. Bon Jovi recently told this reporter. "All these people gettin' in my face, tryin' to get me to do things their way. I finally reached a point where I realized that the best thing for me to do was say 'Have a Nice Day' and be done with it. It's no use gettin' all worked up."
Apparently, over the years many of Jon's fans have felt that he could improve his lot in life and have offered many suggestions as to how he could do so.
"I mean, whoa, there for awhile I was gettin' all kinds of letters sayin' I should think about workin' on the docks or somethin' like that. Then I got a bunch of people tellin' me maybe I should go back to school and become a lawyer or accountant or somethin'. I was really gettin' down and then one day Richie (Sambora, longtime guitarist for the band) says to me, 'Hey man, life is short. You should do what YOU want to do.' I tell ya, that's when I realized I wasn't changin' for nobody, nohow. I mean, really, it's MY life. It's now or never and I ain't gonna live forever. I called the boys in and told 'em I just wanna live while I'm alive."
When told that most people tend to do it that way, Mr. Bon Jovi seemed perplexed and shaken, stopping the interview for ten minutes or so. Upon his return, the Northeasterner had obviously regained his composure and calmly continued.
"I guess it all stems from the fact that I'm a cowboy. On a steel horse I ride and, at one time, I was wanted - dead or alive. It seems like for years I was livin' on a prayer. Man, once you've gone through somethin' like that, you tend to treasure every moment you've got. Have a nice day!"
With that, the dimple-faced Sugarland-enabling pretty boy stood up and left the room, happy and content with the life he has made for himself.
